SharePoint Content Management
ECM (Enterprise content management ) - is a set of technologies used to capture, store, preserve and deliver content and documents and content related to organizational processes. ECM tools allow the management of an organization's unstructured information, wherever that information exists.
ECM employed the technologies and strategies of content management to address business process issues, such as records and auditing, knowledge sharing, personalization and standardization of content, and so on.
Migrating existing content into a SharePoint system, and
specifically into a SharePoint Page Library — the foundation of a
SharePoint Publishing website — is neither simple nor straightforward.To
migrate content into SharePoint we took a look at a number of tools,
both commercial tools and custom-built ones paired with a data
aggregation framework. Here is a review of our experience, a summary of
our final approach and some postmortem thoughts.
A new dynamic is changing how information is captured and shared within the enterprise, and
organizations are discovering that a solution for many of their workplace challenges may
already be available to them. That solution is Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007, which is a

InfoImage Connector is a new solution developed by Unisys in
collaboration with Microsoft that enables Unisys customers to seamlessly
connect Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Unisys InfoImage
document imaging and workflow solutions.
Unisys InfoImage is used by financial services firms, government
agencies, and other organizations to process high volumes of loans,
claims and tax forms in digital form. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
2007 is a leading collaboration and portal software suite. Unisys
believes that combining these technologies will enable users of both
solutions to significantly enhance productivity and improve their
ability to comply with disclosure requirements.
SharePoint has been on my mind a lot recently, not least because we have been
undertaking more research on
the product and its usage in an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) context.
I've also had the unusual opportunity to speak to integrators, resellers and
buyers on three continents over the past couple of weeks. The questions I asked
may not have been scientific, or statistically meaningful, but they have at
